The Role
The Garment Technician / Product Developer is a key role within our client's Design & Development team. Your mission is to ensure that the creative vision is translated into technically accurate, well-constructed, and production-ready garments. Working closely with the Design & Development Lead and the wider Design team, you will support garment construction, technical documentation, fittings and sample development across all stages. You will play an important role in improving fit consistency, product quality, and communication with manufacturers. This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, technically minded, and passionate about garment construction, fit, and product development within a purpose-driven and sustainable brand.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Development & Garment ConstructionSupport the development of garments from sketch to final sample, ensuring technical accuracy and construction consistency. Assist in reviewing garment construction, fit, measurements, and finishing throughout the development process. Support fitting sessions by reviewing measurements, taking notes, and following up on revisions with manufacturers. Identify and troubleshoot garment construction or fit issues during development stages.Technical Documentation & AccuracyCreate, update, and maintain technical packs and product specifications with accuracy and consistency.Ensure all development documents, fitting notes, and revision comments are complete, organised, and up to date.Maintain clear communication with manufacturers regarding technical comments, corrections, and updates.Sample Development & Coordination Tracksample development across all stages, ensuring timelines and revisions are followed closely. Prepare samples for fittings, meetings, and production handover. Support communication and coordination with local manufacturers regarding sample progress and technical adjustments.Development Tracking & Reporting Document development progress meticulously, including fitting photos, revision notes, and sample history Maintain development trackers and ensure all information is updated accurately across all stagesRequirements
You are highly organised, technically minded, and passionate about the details that make a garment fit and function beautifully. Detail-Oriented: You have a strong eye for precision and consistency, especially regarding fit, measurements, and garment construction. Technically Minded: You have a solid understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and how different fabrics behave across categories. Process-Driven: You enjoy organising information, following development stages closely, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. Collaborative: You communicate clearly with both design teams and manufacturers, and enjoy working in a growing and supportive environment. Quality-Focused: You care deeply about product quality, fit consistency, and creating garments that are made to last. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Technology, or related field8 - 10 years of experience in garment technical development or product developmentStrong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and fitting processesDeep understanding of grading and measurementsAbility to create and update technical packs independentlyProficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe PhotoshopStrong organisational skills and attention to detailComfortable communicating technical comments and revisions with manufacturers
Preferred Qualifications
Deep knowledge of fabric construction and fabric behaviourExperience working with Bali-based brands and manufacturersBackground in activewear, yoga wear, RTW, or sportswearExperience attending fittings and following sample development through to production
