About this role
Law Enforcement officers provide preventive patrol of the campus and nearby areas enforcing laws, ordinances, and University rules; regularly investigate accidents/disturbances, make arrests, prepare necessary documentation, and testify in court; and interact with diverse groups of people within the community to render service and collect information. This position typically reports to a Law Enforcement Sergeant or Corporal who reviews work for conformance to laws and departmental rules. Although supervision is not normally a responsibility of positions in this classification, Law Enforcement Officers may provide guidance and/or training to new officers. Law Enforcement officers perform in stressful situations.
