Job SummaryTHIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PARALEGAL SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2416000 and is part of the CO 140 Wing, National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is for Paralegal support within the state/territory Staff Judge Advocate's Office providing ancillary legal research and analysis.

QualificationsMilitary Grades: E-5 thru E-7 Compatible Military Assignment: 5J0X1 AFSC, minimum 5-level 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. Resume must be two pages or less. Federal Resume Help 3. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience. DO NOT copy each bullet listed below word for word and place into your resume; you must describe your personal experience as it pertains to each bullet. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 24 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience in the formal and informal rules of evidence and skill necessary to evaluate the adequacy and/or admissibility of evidence, to request additional data or further investigation, when needed, or to develop narrative or graphic exhibits to support specified legal arguments and coordinate actions with other federal agencies or state and local jurisdictions that have closely related responsibilities. Relocation and Recruitment Incentives Eligibility: Recruitment-Employee newly appointed to a position or following a break in service of at least 90 days. Relocation-Current employee who relocates to accept a position in a new geographic area. If you are eligible for a relocation incentive, the employee must have an appraisal from the prior with that's a 3 or higher. Subject to availability of funds and must be approved by TAG.

Major DutiesAdvises the Staff Judge Advocate on all command issues on behalf of command staff, researching interpretation of federal/state statutes and regulations, and ensuring that legal guidance and support is furnished in a timely manner. Provides legal assistance on a non-interference basis to members of the ANG and their dependents as authorized by AFI 51-504, CNGBI, NGR, and other AF/JA guidance. Conducts legal research of federal and state/territory code, regulations, policies, procedures, case law, legal and administrative decisions and opinions, and summarizes findings to aid the SJA in case or project resolution. Provides research, analysis, guidance, and support to administer courts-martial, non-judicial punishment, administrative boards and other legal actions and administrative processes. Serves as the primary point of contact for ethical determinations. Screens requests for ethics opinions and gathers the applicable facts. Reviews changes in regulations on the Freedom of Information Act and updates and advises other legal personnel and field staff of changes. Performs other duties as assigned.
