Job SummaryAbout the Position: Incumbent will serve as the Deputy G8 for the U.S. Army Transportation Command (ARTRANS). The Incumbent will assist the G8 in the management execution of the full spectrum of responsibilities and programs that fall within G8 area of responsibility.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Directing the integration and execution of fiscal responsibilities, including accounting, budgeting, and managerial-financial reporting for a large-scale command; 2) Supervising the planning, programming, and execution of extensive organizational resources, covering areas such as carrier payments, civilian payroll, and travel; 3) Developing and issuing comprehensive command-wide financial management guidance to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements; and 4) Providing technical authority and expert advice to senior leadership on complex financial management requirements, issues, and concerns. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
Major DutiesDirect the execution of all fiscal responsibilities to include accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.Supervise the command’s budget execution, civilian payroll, fiscal policy, and travel programs.Develop command-wide financial policies and guidance to ensure regulatory compliance.Oversee internal control programs to ensure efficient and effective use of government resources.Provide authoritative advice to leadership on financial management policies and regulations.Manage a large civilian workforce to meet organizational objectives and mission requirements.Represent the command in meetings with DoD and other external agencies to coordinate financial matters.Assess directorate operations to ensure accomplishment of missions and adherence to performance standards.
