As a Patient Throughput Specialist, you’ll coordinate patient movement during inpatient stays, ensuring patients are placed with the right care team at the right time. You’ll use EPIC and other tools to remotely triage patients, manage consults, and support seamless hospital operations — all while collaborating closely with the Transfer Center, Emergency Department, and consulting services. The Patient Placement RN is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the safe, timely, and efficient placement of patients within the hospital. This role ensures appropriate bed assignment, supports optimal patient throughput, and collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to promote quality care and patient satisfaction.
