Job SummaryAbout the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Rod and Gun Club, Kaiserslautern, Germany. This position does not offer logistical support. The primary purpose of this position is to perform and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialist in the operation and maintenance of the Rod & Gun facilities.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: No experience is required, however, should be able to use, clean and control common hand tools to include simple power equipment, drills, vacuums, cutters. Able to follow oral and/or written instructions, checklists involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Able to perform the full range of janitorial duties, learn to operate a point-of-sale system and handle cash. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40 pounds and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions for long periods of time. Must be able to learn to safely handle, store and account for firearms, ammunition and other equipment. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the gun control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Major DutiesPerform and/or assist in sales operations and cleaning, to include minor maintenance of Rod & Gun Club. Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Assist with monthly inventories (retail, equipment & weapon); Check in/out rental equipment, firearms and ensure proper equipment condition upon return. Use Point of Sale terminals to take reservations and payments for customer rentals, weapon storage, programs/special events and retail merchandise to include firearms and ammunition. Operate & visually inspect equipment for defects for all facility activities such as paintball, trap & skeet and gun/archery ranges in accordance with established range(s) safety rules and procedures. Report damage or worn-out equipment to supervisor for further guidance. Provide oversight of paintball fields and test markers for proper Pound per Square Inch (PSI) levels. Set up targets for ranges & set up archery field, fill trap/skeet machines, properly operate air compressor and monitor PSI levels for paintball makers. Maintain cleanliness of entire facility, basic clean & repair all rental equipment. Assistant in setting up special events, classroom lectures and audio-visual equipment.
