QualificationsGeneral Experience: Possess experience, education or training which provides the ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components; Ability to use sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specifications and engineering drawings; Experience which demonstrates skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks. AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-6652-11: Must have at least 18 months experience or training in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems; Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedy where complex relationships exist; Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment; Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment; Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications. Major DutiesTHIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION The primary purpose of the AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-6652-11, is to troubleshoot, repair, install, modify, test and adjust aircraft ordnance systems, equipment and components. On and/or off-equipment inspection, modification, overhaul, troubleshooting and repair capability of weapons release and gun systems; verifies and analyzes malfunctions, troubleshoots, tests, inspects and loads/unloads conventional munitions; installs/removes weapons delivery equipment, launchers and gun systems. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.RequirementsCALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Military Grades: E-4 through E-6 Recruitment/Relocation Recruitment/Relocation Incentive IS NOT authorized. PCS Relocation Costs IS NOT authorized based on determination that Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is not in the Government best interest. Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance. May be required to successfully complete a one or two year trial period. Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards. Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives.
