About this role
Under general supervision, formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.
• Prepares detailed specifications of component level requirements that are fully traceable to system level requirements. • Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary, to understand basic root-cause of issues and propose possible solutions within current systems. • Researches and fact-finds to formulate and define systems scope and objectives, as well as modify moderately complex information systems. • Provides technical support and troubleshooting to end-users. • Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Competent to work on most phases of applications systems analysis activities, but requires instruction and guidance in other phases. • Strong problem-solving and business analysis skills. • An understanding of software development lifecycle. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively and to receive work direction from direct and indirect leadership. • Proficiency using CASE tools for designing and implementing applications. • Experience working in an environment with regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA, etc.). • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Education:
• Bachelor's Degree degree in Computer Science or related field is required. Experience:
• Two (2) years of experience in systems analysis/programming activities in a business environment is required. This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.
