Job SummaryThis ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC position, located within an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Avionics Element, Avionics Shop, Communications/Navigation/ECM, or Guidance and Control shop and is part of the CA 163 ATKW.

QualificationsGeneral Experience: Possess experience, education or training which provides the ability to demonstrate installing, modifying, overhauling, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, aligning, calibrating, and rebuilding multi-system avionics complexes. ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-13: Must have at least at least 12 months of specialized experiences working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-12 and have at least 18 months of specialized experience reviewing and analyzing maintenance data; Experience determining if criteria is sufficient to provide adequate test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; Experience devising and recommending tests, procedural changes, or data corrections; Experience monitoring the operations of complex, inter-related systems, analyzing operating trends, and proposing preventative maintenance down time; Experience performing alignments, adjustments, and conducting final calibrations on integrated systems to determine successful repairs. Major DutiesTHIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION The primary purpose of the ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-13, is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.RequirementsCALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity. WG-13: 2A071, 2A271, 2A272, 2A273, 2A374, 2A375, 2A871, 2A872, 2A971, 2A972, 2A973, 2A974 Non-PAFSC/DAFSC applicants are encouraged to apply for the positions if experience is held, however must become compatible before appointment. Priority Areas(s) of Consideration: Priority consideration is first given to the areas below. AREA I= Current California National Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment. AREA II= Current California National Guard members. AREA III= Current military members of the Air Force/Army National Guard, Air Force/Army Reserve or Air Force/Army Active Duty. (Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the California National Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compatible unit of assignment within the Air Force CNG commensurate with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment). Military Grades: E-3 through E-6 Recruitment/Relocation Recruitment/Relocation Incentive IS NOT authorized. PCS Relocation Costs IS NOT authorized based on determination that Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is not in the Government best interest. Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance. May be required to successfully complete a one or two year trial period. Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards. Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
