Job SummaryThis National Guard position is for a HR SPEC, Position Description Number D2958000 and is part of the NJJFHQ, National Guard Human Resources Office. Duties are performed to either Army (ARNG) or Air National Guard (ANG) organizations and the full-time workforce within the State.
QualificationsGENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which involves the exercise of analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and personal responsibility, and application of a substantial body of knowledge of principles, concepts and practices applicable to one or more fields of administration or management. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training involving the administering, delivering, maintaining, advising, and adapting basic concepts, principles, and theories of Human Resources to the unique organizational, management, and mission requirements.
Major DutiesAs a HR SPEC, GS-0201-9, you will: Serve as advisor to commanders on assigned unit human resources (HR) programs. Plan, direct, control and provide advisory services on all aspects of the Career Enhancement program for both Active Guard Reserve (AGR), unit drill status guardsmen, full time technicians and potential members. Develop internal policies and procedures governing administration of the following programs: Officer Performance Report/Enlisted Performance Report (OPR/EPR), and officer, enlisted promotions and enlisted demotions. Manage the Air Force Personnel Records System. Manage and provide guidance and technical expertise of various special programs to include Deserving Airman Promotion Program, Reserve Officers Personnel Management Program, Exceptional Promotion Program, and Extensions/Reenlistment Program. Performs other duties as assigned.RequirementsCompatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.
