CHAPLAIN’S OFFICE
The Chaplain’s Office was established as early as the founding of Hong Kong Baptist University, a leading liberal arts University in Asia, proudly built upon the heritage of Christian higher education. Operated with the support of donations, the Chaplain’s Office plays an important role in maintaining a Christian presence and heritage of the University and is committed to character building of students and to provide quality pastoral care and spiritual support to the University community.
Coordinator of Student Ministries (25260762)
The appointee is expected to provide both pastoral and operational support for the Christian Student Union (CSU) and the related Divisions, with responsibilities including:
Responsibilities:
• Providing pastoral care, discipleship training, and ministry to members and leaders of CSU, as well as coordinating with various ministry divisions; • Overseeing and supporting the ministries of CSU including Football Team, working closely with its leadership; • Organising and coordinating joint projects, such as Orientation Projects and Christian Emphasis Week; and • Assisting the Chaplain with additional student and university-wide ministries and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
• A recognised university degree with formal theological training, and at least three years of related experience; • Genuine passion for serving and mentoring young people, particularly university students; • Strong ability to foster a positive team environment, effectively manage multiple tasks, and work independently with flexible hours; and • Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit a written test and an interview.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement, and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
