QualificationsResumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: A bachelor's degree is required which included a minimum of 24 semester hours in accounting and work experience of the type described above. OR Combination of education and experience -- at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law. A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination. Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Skills in applying NAFI accounting principles, financial regulations, and internal controls, with clear differentiation from APF and commercial frameworks. Have the ability to differentiate between appropriated fund and commercial frameworks. Applicant meeting the Best Qualifying Criteria/Highly Preferred will be referred to the hiring manager. All other qualified applicants will be referred if requested by the hiring manager. Claimed experience must be verifiable through your resume. Assumptions will not be made.
Major DutiesPerforms or directs the accounting management of the fund. Develops, monitors, reviews and/or analyzes financial reports, payroll, accounts payable, internal review follow-up and banking data.Develops and revises in-house data to meet new requirements. Provides guidance and direction necessary to effectively accomplish mission requirements.Makes ratio analysis of various aspects of operations in order to identify problem areas or unfavorable conditions.Prepares various reports of findings, recommendations, and financial position.
