QualificationsOne year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07 if applying at the GS-09 level, or GS-09 if applying at the GS-11 level) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. GS-09 Specialized Experience is defined as: performing financial management data analysis, creating recommendations for financial operations improvements, and customer support for an automated payroll system. GS-11 Specialized Experience is defined as: analyzing financial operations to recommend process improvements; monitoring and evaluating financial systems to ensure compliance; and reviewing laws affecting financial operations and recommending changes to ensure compliance. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Major DutiesThe duties, described below, represent the major duties performed at the GS-11 level. The duties performed for developmental positions will be of limited scope and complexity to develop skills, proficiency, and work experience.Coordinate projects involving the development or revision of the laws, policies and procedures that will enhance productivity and an acceptable level of customer service.Provide technical guidance in the interpretation and application of processing administrative hearings, and congressional inquiries.Identify and resolve procedural deficiencies through reports and recommendations.Review, analyze, and report on the results of operations, and incorporate necessary changes into operational instructions or regulations.
