QualificationsWho May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) demonstrated experience performing non-professional nursing/medical assistance work assisting Health Care Providers with medical exams; 2) administering immunizations and medications ordered by the Health care providers; 3) obtaining specimens (blood, mucus, urine, etc.) for laboratory testing. OR Education: Successfully completed a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position, such as, Nursing, Anatomy that is directly related to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Major DutiesReceives telephone calls, patients, and visitors to the medical facility.Applies and removes bandages, binders, simple dressings, and hot and cold packs.Completes screening of patient for Privilege Provider to include recording chief complaint, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height, and weight etc.Administers immunizations as ordered and screened by providers.Receives requests for appointment by telephone or in person.
