QualificationsResumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Must have knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of Outdoor Recreation pursuits. 2. Applicants pursuing a degree in Recreation Management, Outdoor Recreation, or a related field, and in the process of completing an internship or fieldwork program will be considered highly qualified. NOTE: The above minimum qualifications must be described within the duties of previous work experience listed on the applicant's resume and/or supporting documents. A copy of all documents must be submitted at the time of application.
Major DutiesOperating a point-of-sale system; answering phones; responding to customer inquiries; and addressing customer service matters related to our facility and other MWR facilities.Operating a 15-passenger van with an attached trailer on back roads; loading and unloading kayaks and associated equipment.Leading hiking, kayaking, climbing, and other outdoor recreation trips as designated mission-essential activities. Facilitating high ropes course activities at height and routinely setting new routes on the climbing wall on a weekly basis.Supporting mission-essential special events, including large-scale programs such as Pop Goes the Fort in October.Conduct routine safety inspections of the ropes course, including rope logs, TruBlue units, life jackets, harnesses, and government vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational readiness.
