Alongside our global campuses, we also collaborate with talented contractors and freelancers from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals.

This role is a 9-month engagement, working full-time hours per week.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

Design & Craft

Create high-quality print designs across formats (marketing materials, templates, collateral)

Apply strong typography, layout, colour, and composition principles

Ensure designs are functional, editable, and scalable within Canva templates

Uphold Canva’s “one quality bar” across all print outputs

Print Production & Technical Execution

Prepare print-ready files, including correct bleed, trim, colour profiles (CMYK), and resolution

Conduct pre-flight checks to ensure accuracy and consistency before production

Manage file setup, packaging, and export requirements for different print outputs

Understand and apply print production methods and constraints

Systems & Scalability

Design templates and assets that are modular, reusable, and user-friendly

Contribute to print design systems and best practices

Ensure outputs work across multiple formats, sizes, and use cases

AI & Workflow Integration

Use AI tools to accelerate ideation, variation, and production workflows

Apply design judgement to ensure outputs meet quality and usability standards

Explore ways to scale content production responsibly using AI

Collaboration & Communication

Collaborate with design, product, and print stakeholders

Communicate design decisions clearly and concisely

Actively participate in critiques and feedback loops

Build strong working relationships across teams

Generating AI audio that ships — music, SFX, and voice — with quality, clarity, and compliance at pace.

Refining prompts and presets, managing evaluation sets, and aligning to style guides and guardrails.

Building ingest-ready workflows (naming, metadata, rights, QA, rollback) with Ingest and Templates teams.

Supporting discoverability through clear naming, tagging, and taxonomy design.

Analysing data and feedback to improve audio quality, diversity, and effectiveness.

Publishing reusable docs and playbooks to help others scale their workflows with confidence.

Escalating any safety, rights, or consent concerns to appropriate teams with context and clarity.

You're probably a match if

Core Craft & Design

Strong foundation in visual design fundamentals (typography, layout, colour, composition)

Ability to create polished, production-ready design work

Understanding of designing for templates and scalable systems

Print & Production Expertise

Solid understanding of print processes and production workflows

Experience preparing print-ready files (bleed, trim, colour profiles, resolution)

Knowledge of pre-press, file setup, and export requirements

Attention to detail in pre-flight and quality assurance

Tools & Workflow

Proficiency in design tools (Adobe/Affinity, Prepress and Print Production Tools, Pantone and ICC Profiles, Generative AI Tools)

Familiarity with file structures and production pipelines

Ability to manage multiple deliverables efficiently

AI & Future-Ready Skills

Emerging ability to use AI tools to support design workflows

Understanding of how to balance AI efficiency with human craft and judgement
