The Grab Public Affairs and Policy Team is shaping the future of technology and society in Southeast Asia. We build partnerships with governments to support national policy agendas, engage constructively on public policy discussions, and drive initiatives that harness technology's positive potential to create impact across the region.
The Singapore Public Affairs and Policy team develops strategies and orchestrates engagements on public policy and the national agenda in Singapore. We support GrabHQ and the local business in working with the Singapore government, community stakeholders, and the public policy community.
Get to Know the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Singapore, this is an exciting opportunity where you will shape and drive policies related to data, gig economy and "big tech" regulation, across Grab's transport, deliveries, and financial services business. In this high impact role, you will work with some of the most exciting public policy issues of our time, making critical decisions and breaking down complex policy topics for both the public and key stakeholders at Grab.
Your expertise will guide regulatory consultations across diverse sectors, and you will play an essential role in Grab's interactions with the Singapore Government and community stakeholders. You will also advance Grab's role within the public policy landscape, staying engaged with the public affairs community, and leading efforts to align with emerging technological and socio-political trends that shape the future of platforms.
This role will be based onsite at our Grab One North office in Singapore.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
You will be Grab's liaison with public stakeholders, enhance Grab's network and represent Grab on key issuesYou will analyze public policy issues, develop positions, and provide advocacy recommendationsYou will develop and implement platform policy and advocacy strategy to meet Grab's public policy goalsYou will collaborate with local and regional Grab teams (e.g. public relations, product, legal, privacy, safety, business) to plan and deliver public affairs campaignsYou will provide counsel to Grab's leaders on our priorities and plansYou will develop and implement the strategy for engagement with government bodies, regulatory agencies, third-party entities, and support in building lasting relationshipsYou will lead development of Public-Private partnerships which allow Grab to support government priorities and deliver value to the local community What Essential Skills You Will Need
At least 10 years of experience in public or government affairs, public policy, consulting, regulatory roles in Singapore, with at least 3 to 4 years at a director levelKnowledge and familiarity with the Singapore government's priorities, and political developmentsSkills in building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of external stakeholders, including governments, community, and public policy communityLead cross-team initiatives (e.g. gig economy) to prioritize Grab's partnerships to support the government and community of SingaporeExperience managing a team of expertsDemonstrate readiness to solve unforeseen challenges, seize new opportunities, and the flexibility to adapt and reassess strategies quickly Life at Grab
