Market Range: 06 Hiring Salary: $19.67/Hourly JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Student Services Specialist 3 is a cross-functional position with joint responsibilities in the Office of Registrar and the Office of Admissions. This position plays a vital role in facilitating seamless student experiences by processing transfer credit, transcript requests, degree verifications, and enrollment verifications. This position serves as a key point of contact for current students, former students, and various stakeholders seeking essential documentation and information.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reviews and analyzes academic transcripts from domestic and international institutions; evaluates coursework, grades, credit hours, and degree conferral in accordance with institutional and regulatory guidelines. • Determines transfer credit eligibility and equivalencies using established policies and articulation agreements. • Identifies discrepancies, inconsistencies, or potential fraud in academic records and escalates concerns as appropriate. • Addresses inquiries from current students and alumni regarding transcript requests, processing times, and related matters. • Utilizes the enrollment reporting system, such as the National Student Clearinghouse, to fulfill degree verification requests from external entities. • Ensures the secure production of transcripts in compliance with university policies and regulations. • Maintains comprehensive documentation of all transcripts, degree verification, and enrollment verification activities. • Ensures compliance with FERPA and other applicable privacy and confidentiality regulations. • Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of office experience; OR Associates Degree and two (2) years of experience; OR a combination of education and experience to equal four (4) years. (Experience in higher education preferred). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of spreadsheets and database applications; student information system. • Excellent customer service, organizational, and strong computer and word processing. • Solid proofreading/editing, strong grammatical and writing skills, and strong written and verbal communication and diplomacy. • Skills in general business administration. • Ability to be flexible and work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism paced environment. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism.
