About this role

Perlite Operator operates multiple production units, monitor control systems, and troubleshoots basic process issues with limited supervision.

• Safety & Compliance: Prioritize safety through regular inspections, adherence to standards, and maintaining clean work environments. • Operations Management: Follow standard procedures, monitor production processes, and adjust as needed to meet demand. • Quality Assurance: Conduct testing to ensure products meet required specifications. • System & Data Management: Use production software to record and track operational data. • Process Improvement: Continuously inspect and optimize processes for reliability and efficiency. • Maintenance Support: Assist with minor equipment maintenance and upkeep. • Team Coordination: Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to align on goals and ensure smooth operations. • Experience in manufacturing, preferred Working safely is first priority • Ensures that the perlite plant operates according to Standard Operating Procedures and meets demand • Conduct thorough QC testing of process and finished composite samples. Ensures product meets quality specifications. • Utilization of JDE software to enter production receipts and finished code data • Ensure Perlite Unit GMP's are adhered to. • Drive process reliability and process optimization improvements through continuous inspection and monitoring of process conditions, record readings and make necessary adjustments. • Conduct workplace inspections focusing on any potential safety hazards. Ensure housekeeping standards are met and all areas are maintained in a clean and professional manner. • Support minor maintenance activities within Perlite unit. • Maintain high level communication with Perlite Foreman to ensure efficiency and meeting all plant goals. • Additional duties as assigned

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required • High level of safety and quality • 1+ years in a process manufacturing environment and strong technical and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to multi-task at a fast-pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.) • Good problem-solving skills • Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge - Preferred • Forklift experience - Preferred • Computer Software - Preferred • Warehouse experience - Preferred
