The Exercise Physiologist evaluates cardiac patients, plans and implements a cardiac rehabilitation program. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field from an accredited college or university PREFERRED EDUCATION: MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 12 week internship in cardiac rehabilitation PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years experience with exercise prescription in a clinical setting REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: American College of Sports Medicine – Clinical Exercise Physiologist REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):
• Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire. • AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role.
