We are seeking an experienced and motivated Charge Nurse to join our Palmerston North clinic, a busy and well-established urgent care and general practice environment known for its strong, nurse-led culture. This is a unique opportunity to step into a hands-on leadership role where you will influence patient outcomes, support a high-performing team, and further develop your leadership career. Your Role: As Charge Nurse, you will provide clinical leadership while remaining actively involved in patient care within a busy clinic operating 7 days a week (8am–8pm).
• Provide strong clinical leadership and day-to-day support to a responsive nursing team. • Deliver hands-on care including triage, acute presentations, wound care, plastering, and immunisations. • Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical quality, and best practice. • Support clinic operations including rostering and workflow coordination. • Mentor and develop nurses across varying experience levels and scopes. • Work collaboratively with General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, and Nurse Prescribers. Requirements:
• Current NZNC Annual Practicing Certificate. • Urgent care and/or general practice experience (essential). • Proven leadership capability and ability to support a dynamic team. • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively. • Medtech experience (desirable). • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to health equity. • Legal right to work in New Zealand.
