Occupational Therapist - Pediatric Float (24 hours/week)
Job Posting Description: Flexible Scheduling Options Available; must work Fridays Join Franciscan Children’s, an affiliate of Boston Children's Hospital, as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist and provide high-quality, family-centered care across both our inpatient and outpatient programs. This unique float position offers variety and flexibility, with the opportunity to work with pediatric patients across different clinical settings while supporting evolving patient and departmental needs. The Occupational Therapist provides evaluation, treatment, education, and consultation for primarily pediatric patients, with occasional adult patients. As a float clinician, you’ll maintain proficiency across inpatient and outpatient settings and provide coverage based on staff absences, census fluctuations, and program growth.What You’ll Do
• Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy plans based on functional needs, developmental and medical history, and family goals. • Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions for pediatric patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. • Educate patients, families, caregivers, and support personnel on therapeutic activities, home programs, equipment, and assistive devices. • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment, discharge planning, and continuity of care. • Provide flexible clinical coverage across programs based on patient volume and departmental needs. • Adapt quickly to different clinical environments, caseloads, and team structures. • Monitor and communicate patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate. • Maintain timely documentation and meet departmental and regulatory requirements. • Participate in quality improvement, professional development, and departmental initiatives. • May provide supervision to COTAs and occupational therapy students. What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist. • At least one year of pediatric occupational therapy experience preferred. • Ability to work effectively across inpatient and outpatient settings. • A collaborative, adaptable approach and commitment to providing exceptional patient- and family-centered care.
