FlexStaff is seeking a CT Technologist to work for one of our clients, the largest city health system for their location in Brooklyn, NY.
This is a permanent, full-time job.
Work Shifts:
8:00 A.M - 4:00 P.M
9:00 A.M - 5:00 P.M
Saturday availability required
In this role you would be responsible for computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree • New York State License • Advance certification by ARRT License • License by NYS to Inject Contrast • BLS Certified
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Review exam orders, consult with the radiologist, schedule patients, and arrange transportation. • Identify patients and document information in RIS and PACS. • Prepare patients for radiological procedures and ensure protection from infectious materials. • Administer IV contrast media, explain procedures to patients, and engage the radiologist or LIP as needed. • Verify completion of the contrast media questionnaire, assess IV lines, or select venipuncture sites. • Load and program the power injector, assigning injection rates per protocol. • Ensure emergency equipment is available and monitor patients for reactions during contrast injection, notifying the radiologist if needed. • Supervise and train radiographers and ancillary staff in procedures. • Conduct specialized CT examinations and perform daily checks on CT equipment. • Document maintenance and quality assurance, serving as the Quality Assurance Technologist as required. • Inspect equipment and ensure proper usage through training. • Report unexpected patient incidents as per protocol. • Maintain radiation safety and keep ionizing radiation exposure ALARA. • Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. • Assist radiologists during procedures and maintain professionalism with all stakeholders. • Uphold patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA.
