About this role
Responsible for providing basic nursing care services and supervision for students at one or two Fairfax County Public Schools. This position will: - assess and determine student's health status and follow appropriate protocols to provide care, screening, and documentation. - monitor and manage students with acute or chronic disease and/or disabilities and document the care services provided in accordance with standard protocol, orders, and/or care plans. - respond to individual student needs according to the Health Care Plan developed by Public Health Nurse, perform special health procedures such as epinephrine injections, glucagon administration, and nebulization treatments. - participate in all required training. - provide culturally sensitive care to students. - adhere to medication administration policies and protocols for licensed professionals as outlined by state and local regulations. - maintain security of medication and audit medications in accordance with medication administration protocols. - manage routine school health room activities and review and update student health records daily.
