Assistant Professor or Higher (Pediatric Anesthesiology)

Position Description: Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions: • Provides pediatric anesthesia patient care, clinical anesthesia, and supervision of CRNAs and other trainees. • Maintains all applicable licenses, controlled substance registrations ,hospital privileges ,and third payer enrollments in good standing • Supervises residents, and participates in teaching activities for medical student and/or residents • Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship • Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work • Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures • Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC EL Paso • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's declarations of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications: • Bilingual in English and Spanish • Experience in teaching students and residents • Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher

Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. Required Qualifications: • MD or DO degree • Texas medical license, or eligibility for unrestricted Medical Licensure in the State of Texas • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Anesthesiology • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Anesthesiology or board certified in Pediatric Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology
