Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.
Responsibilities:
• Job responsibilities include those listed in the competency document. • Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. • Provide clinical services as requested by a physician during open heart surgery and other procedures which may utilize but not limited to extracorporeal circulation, cell saver, autologous blood component separation, operation of POC blood gas analyzer, intra-aortic balloon augmentation, and related monitoring. • Participate in quality improvement measures as identified. • Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms • Utilizes appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patient and staff by assuming duties within or out of the sterile field as assigned • Uses standard precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment when working around or handling hazardous substances, including blood or bodily fluids. • Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in educational offerings. • Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science • Completion of Accredited School of Perfusion • Current certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or Board Eligible • BLS
