Maintenance Millwright - Fremont, NE
Job Description: Traveling Maintenance Millwright – Fremont, NE (Eastern Nebraska) This is a full-time, salary non-exempt role. ADM Grain
Work That Feeds the World As a Traveling Maintenance Millwright, you'll support grain handling operations across 12 locations in eastern Nebraska, Iowa, and southwest Minnesota, making sure the equipment that moves grain from field to market stays running safely and reliably.
You'll be based out of one of our eastern Nebraska locations, including Fullerton, Newman Grove, Wisner, Lincoln, or Columbus, with a preference for Fremont. You can expect roughly 10% overnight travel, with ADM covering all transportation and travel expenses.
Position Responsibilities • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on grain handling equipment and facility systems • Direct installation and revision of plant and facility equipment, working alongside mechanics or contractors as needed • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic controls, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and PC-based systems • Fabricate fixtures and equipment from drawings or design concepts • Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software to record maintenance activities and parts usage • Apply proficiency across multiple maintenance disciplines, including welding, HVAC, control circuits, piping, and fluid pumping systems • Use basic maintenance testing and measuring equipment • Read and interpret blueprints and other technical materials • Identify and source components needed to resolve mechanical breakdowns • Maintain and organize ADM-provided tools and service truck
Position Qualifications • Five or more years of hands-on maintenance experience • Formal technical training in related technical areas desired • Experience with grain handling equipment is preferred • High school diploma or equivalent • Valid driver's license; ability to pass a U.S. DOT physical (a commercial driver's license is not required) • Forklift operation experience and familiarity with manufacturing environments • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively • Adheres to and promotes all safety programs, policies and procedures
Working Conditions • Travel to 12 locations across eastern Nebraska, Iowa, and southwest Minnesota, with approximately 10% overnight travel • Work is performed primarily outdoors in hot and cold seasonal conditions • Must be comfortable working at heights and performing confined space entries • Availability required for emergency or unplanned work outside of scheduled hours; increased overtime is expected during fall harvest months Before applying for an exempt, non-exempt or hourly job opportunity, you are expected to initiate a discussion and share your intentions with your supervisor. * If you’ve been in your current position for more than 18 months, supervisor approval is not required. * If you’ve been in your current position for less than 18 months, verbal supervisor approval is required. : Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
