Role Purpose The Mechanical Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, precise, and compliant removal, inspection, and reinstallation of high-voltage batteries in electric vehicles. This position ensures system reliability, adherence to electrical safety protocols, and high-quality service delivery within a specialized workshop environment. We are building a talent pool for future openings as our organisation continues to grow. Key Accountabilities
• Safely perform discharge, removal, inspection, and reinstallation of high-voltage (HV) vehicle batteries following technical procedures and electrical safety standards. • Conduct visual and technical inspections of batteries, connectors, wiring harnesses, and related systems. • Verify correct insulation, torque, and electrical connections after reinstallation. • Document completed work, technical findings, and service recommendations. • Strictly follow HV safety protocols, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures. • Collaborate with other technicians and service teams to ensure safe and comprehensive repairs. Technical Requirements
• Technical degree or engineering background in Automotive Mechanics, Electromechanics, Autotronics, or related fields. • Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on automotive electrical systems. • Strong knowledge of: systems - Automotive electrical and electronic systems, High-voltage (HV) battery systems, Electrical safety protocols, Use of multimeters, insulated tools, and diagnostic equipment • Previous experience with electric or hybrid vehicles preferred.
