This Inspirational Leader will:
Lead the day-to-day operation and strategic development of the school’s SEND policy, including coordinating the work of external professionalsOversee the identification and assessment of pupils with SEND, ensuring appropriate, high-quality interventions are in placeAdvise on the effective deployment of resources to meet pupils’ needsSupport, coach and train staff in evidence-informed strategies for teaching pupils with SEND, including those with complex needsMaintain accurate and compliant SEND records, including SEN Support Plans and reports for external agencies and governorBuild strong partnerships with parents/carers, ensuring they are fully informed and actively involved in their child’s progressLead review meetings, including EHCP annual reviews and multi-agency meetingsMonitor, evaluate and report on the impact of SEND provision to senior leaders and governorsFulfil statutory SENCo duties in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2014), including leading EHC needs assessments and placement consultationsRespond effectively to the emerging needs of pupils throughout the school dayProvide strategic leadership of the school’s Internal Alternative ProvisionChampion inclusion and safeguarding, proactively removing barriers to learningPromote and embody our nurturing ethos to support confident, happy and successful learners
