About this role

Job summary Health Care Assistant AMU Band 2 - 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Acute Medical unit team at Stepping Hill Hospital as a band 2 but will be upskilled to a band 3. We work collaboratively with the Emergency Department, Medical Same Day Emergency Care Unit and Acute Frailty Unit within the medicine and urgent care division.

If you are a Health Care Assistant who would like to make a difference every day, whilst working in a busy, fast paced environment, we would love to hear from you. We are a 58 bedded unit and we care for patients with all different types of illnesses.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for people who are compassionate, caring and committed to providing a high standard of patient care.

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be expected to assist patient's in meeting their activities of daily living under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You will also assist on the transfer of patients to other departments or wards within the Hospital.

Our clinical induction will ensure that you develop your knowledge and skills in the role of a Health Care Assistant under the guidance of a supportive team. On completion of skills assessments, you will be able to take part in additional clinical skills pertinent to your role.

You will commence employment as a band 2 and will attend an upskill day to enable you to progress to a band 3

Education & Qualifications Essential
