Job summary
The successful candidate will work as part of the Practices Dispensing Team, ensuring that patients receive a timely and professional service when seeking their medication.
Our Dispensary Team is very experienced and works across our two Dispensing Practices, one in the bustling market town of Blandford and the other in the quiet rural setting of Child Okeford. We are a large Practice with over 100 staff and we pride ourselves on delivering a high quality service that matches our 'Outstanding' CQC inspection judgement.

The hours required are 27 hours per week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:30am to 6:30pm, with Monday and Friday as a days off!
NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing or equivalent qualification is required for this job role.
Main duties of the job
You would be expected to project a positive and friendly image to dispensary patients and other visitors and deal with queries in a professional, courteous, and efficient way.
The successful applicant will work within our experienced Dispensary Team to process and hand out prescriptions to patients, and deal with patients enquiries. Our Dispensers carry out a variety of tasks such ordering drugs and appliances, dispensing and checking prescriptions, and helping to maintain stock levels and the smooth running of the Dispensary.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Ordering drugs and appliances from the wholesaler.Unpacking and checking all drug deliveries.Dispensing and checking of prescriptions.Checking stock levels and expiry dates of drugs on the shelves.Querying prescriptions with Doctors when unsure.Maintaining a neat and tidy working environment.Helping, reassuring and counselling patients when they are collecting drugs from the surgery.Collecting prescriptions charges or check exemption certificates.Keeping the Controlled Drug book up to date and ensure all entries are made.Supporting and advising the dispensary clerksThis role is based across two sites so being able to drive and access to a vehicle is essential.
