Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the York and Selby Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Team.
The EIP service provides specialist support to individuals aged 14-65 experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The team works collaboratively to offer recovery-focused, person-centred care aimed at improving long-term outcomes and supporting individuals to live meaningful lives.
As a Band 5 Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality mental health care within a multidisciplinary team, supporting service users and their families across the York and Selby locality.
Whether you're an experienced Registered Nurse or a Newly Registered Nurse, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a service that puts patient care first. You will have the time and support to make a real difference every day.

Main duties of the job
Deliver evidence-based, recovery-focused care to individuals experiencing early psychosis Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments and contribute to care planning Support physical health monitoring and promote wellbeing Work collaboratively with carers, families, and partner agencies Contribute to risk assessment and risk management planning Participate in psychoeducation and therapeutic interventions under supervision Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with Trust policies Engage in team meetings, supervision, and continuous professional development

Qualifications Essential
Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD (RNSC - CAMHS only ) - RGN (If appropriate) (OR WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF QUALIFYING) To be recognised practice supervisor or work towards in an agreed timescale Trained Clinical Supervisor or work towards in an agreed timescale Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Experience Essential
Working with people with mental ill health / learning disabilities Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers Working in a multi-disciplinary team Working in partnership with other agencies
Knowledge Essential
Evidence based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field. understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act) Understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice clinical Governance and its application in practice. Confident working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injections
