Job summary

Haringey Faculty Programme Director

Employer: NCL Training Hub

Location: Haringey, North Central London

Salary: £82,462 £93,773 per annum (pro rata, depending on experience)

Contract: Fixed Term to 31 March 2027

Working Pattern: Part time 4.2 hours per week (equivalent to 1 session)

Interview date: expected to take place on either 22 or 23 July

Main duties of the job

The Faculty Programme Director will:

Design, develop and deliver educational programmes aligned with NCL Training Hub priorities

Deliver workshops and training sessions at borough and NCL level

Work closely with the Haringey Training Hub and NCL Education Faculty to develop high-quality learning content

Support PCN Educator Leads and workforce teams to identify and address learning needs

Organise and facilitate Multi-Professional Educator Group (MPEG) workshops in Haringey

Promote and support the development of educators and supervisors across primary care

Contribute to the expansion of local training capacity and educator networks

Attend and contribute to the NCL Education Faculty working group

Collect, analyse and report workforce learning needs and priority

The NCL Training Hub is a dynamic and innovative team responsible for developing our primary care workforce in North Central London (NCL). We work according to a distributed leadership model across the five borough Training Hubs hosted in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington.

The Training Hub delivers around 70 workforce development initiatives for clinical & non-clinical staff working across Primary Care. Each workstream is housed in one of the five Borough Training Hubs. The Training Hub works to embed a culture of education, partnership and collaboration.

Our programmes reflect the learning and development needs of primary care and neighbourhood workforce teams and align with system priorities. We enable the placed based delivery of high-quality health and social care to our community across North Central London. We build, support and develop a skilled, diverse and inclusive workforce who are empowered to reach their full potential.

Job description Job responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated primary care clinician to take on the role of Haringey Faculty Programme Director within the Haringey Training Hub.

This is an educational leadership role focused on the design, development and delivery of high-quality education programmes for the primary care workforce across the five boroughs of North Central London (NCL).

The postholder will play a key role in identifying learning needs, supporting educator development, contributing to system-wide education initiatives and helping ensure that workforce education aligns with both local priorities and national NHS objectives.

This role is well suited to an individual with experience in education and training who is passionate about workforce development and able to work collaboratively across organisations and professional groups.

Applicants must be a registered primary care clinician currently employed within a primary care setting in the London Borough of Haringey. This may include (but is not limited to) GPs, nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists, paramedics, or other appropriately registered primary care clinicians with relevant educational skills and experience.

This is essential to ensure applicants have a strong local knowledge of Haringey primary care services and established professional relationships within the borough.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

A registered primary care clinician working in Haringey with a current licence to practice

Desirable

Educational qualification such as a postgraduate certificate Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Experience Essential

Previous experience in an educational leadership role Demonstrated experience in delivering and managing healthcare education and training, specifically within primary care settings Knowledge of workforce challenges, NHS workforce priorities, and structures, with a particular focus on primary care and multi-professional teams. Understanding of available training pathways and support mechanisms for primary care educators, as well as the challenges they face. Experience in designing and delivering educational sessions for diverse audiences, using various formats to meet specific learning objectives.

Desirable

Familiarity with different teaching methods and approaches, with the ability to adapt based on learner needs. This includes providing both formal and informal feedback and adjusting content accordingly. Knowledge of effective e-learning formats for sharing information and resources across teams.
