Job summary
At University Hospitals Plymouth we have a Comprehensive Neurology Service. This currently post in Neurology is based in Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. Whilst not a training post, will work with the SpRs in the Peninsula Training Programme and your duties will be similar.
Main duties of the job
This is predominantly a clinical post, but you will be given a half day per week to pursue special interest activity. There is also separate time to undertake patient-related administration. The non-clinical time will be converted from day shift hours, with the clinical time consisting of the remaining in hours and the out-of-hours component of the rota.

Qualifications Essential
o MBBS or equivalent medical qualification o Successful completion of MRCS or equivalent at time of application
Education Essential
o Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment o Evidence of achievement of Foundation competences by time of appointment in line with GMC standards/ Good Medical Practice including: oGood clinical care oMaintaining good medical practice oGood relationships and communication with patients oGood working relationships with colleagues oGood teaching and training oProfessional behaviour and probity oDelivery of good acute clinical care o Evidence of achievement of CT/ST1 competences in neurosurgery at time of appointment & projected completion of CT/ST2 competences in neurosurgery by time if appointment o Evidence of operative experience in neurosurgery o Eligibility to work in the UK
