Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and skilled Band 6 Specialist Mental Health Nurse. This is an opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to work within our Specialist Eating Disorder team and to join our multidisciplinary Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CCAMHS) on the Isle of Wight.

This is a secondment post to provide cover for absence for specific purpose that we anticipate will be required for 6 months.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our CAMHS Team, you will be joining a strong and supportive group of professionals who will be your peers inspiring colleagues. You will play a crucial role in providing and being responsible for ensuring the provision of safe services for all people using the Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

The post holder will support the Eating Disorder Clinical Lead to ensure the delivery of an Eating Disorder pathway for young people and their families using the service. You will be expected to manage a caseload of young people with eating difficulties who may also have co-morbid mental health difficulties and you will have co-ordinated responsibility for the young people. The role involves multi-disciplinary working and bespoke packages of care that are evidence informed and following NICE guidelines standards.. The post holder will carry out comprehensive assessments and interventions supported by the team within Tier 3 CCAMHS and hold their own caseload.

Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible in collaboration with the team for Eating Disorder assessments and interventions of children and young people referred to our service: the ability to make balanced decisions and use a positive approach whilst managing potentially high pressure situations is an essential part of the role. The post involves interagency liaisons with all the local authority and third sector services, Child and Family Social Services, Education department and other agencies, as required. The post will primarily be based at the CCAMHS clinic and you may also be required to work with young people and their families within their own home or Paediatric ward at the local hospital St Mary's.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

*RMN with live NMC registration. Allied Health Professional Psychologist Occupational therapist or Social worker with appropriate current registration *Evidence of on-going development and post registration training. *Post registration training in evidence based psychological treatments *Nurse Mentorship Qualification/Practice Teaching or equivalent qualification to supervise
