About this role
As the Senior Demand Planning Analyst, you will utilize your expertise in the core capabilities of demand planning in support of category management teams. The role will include temporary placement on category teams to cover extended openings or resource needs for Demand Planning. The Senior Demand Planning Specialist will also be responsible for the execution of centralized activities and participation in projects and training when not placed on a specific team. The focus of this role is the alignment and execution of inventory purchasing and placement through forecasting, vendor collaboration and inventory investment. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. What you’ll do Calculate initial forecasts, order quantities, timing for new items, and initiate SSRAs Collaborate with key vendors on healthy receipt flow. Weekly exchange of receipt plans with primary vendors discussing key variances through CPFR. Adjust systems as needed (forecasts and/or SPQ) Execute centralized activities in support of multiple categories (store level forecast adjustments, fulfillment splits, etc.) Execute specific Transition In settings, Transition Out settings, and purchase orders as needed Participate in testing and training activities associated with new and existing process and capabilities Basic qualifications 1 year of merchandising, retail, supply chain, consulting or related experience Preferred qualifications Bachelor's Degree 2 years of experience in Retail, Supply Chain, Business Management or related field Strong business acumen and experience with forecasting and demand planning activities Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel) What’s in it for you We’re committed to helping our people thrive at work and at home.
