Security Officer
POST: Security and Car parking
BASE: AIREDALE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST
SALARY: £25,272 (Grade A) Pro rata against standard 37.5hr week, enhanced rate payable for nights weekends and bank holidays
HOURS: Average 42 hours per week Monday to Sunday. Day and night shifts plus weekends.
Main duties of the job
What You'll Be Doing
Providing a visible, reassuring presence across the hospital site Supporting staff, patients, and visitors with queries and assistance Responding to incidents in a calm and professional manner Helping to de-escalate challenging situations safely Monitoring access and ensuring hospital policies are followed Working closely with clinical teams and other support services Monitor car parking and parking enforcement within the site policy

About the Role
We are looking for approachable, reliable, and professional individuals to join our Security Team. As a Hospital Security Officer, you will play an important role in helping to maintain a safe, calm, and supportive environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
This is a people-focused role where communication, teamwork, and professionalism are just as important as security awareness.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Willing to work towards (and successfully obtain) SIA and CCTV badges.
Desirable
Holds SIA and CCTV badges GCSE English at grade A-C
Skills/Competencies Essential
Ability to follow instructions both verbal and written Communicates effectively Able to speak, read and write a good standard of English
Knowledge Essential
Understanding of Confidentiality Demonstrates an understanding of Dignity and Respect Understanding of Health and Safety
Desirable
Knowledge of an NHS organisation or similar environment
Experience Essential
Basic knowledge of health and safety in a working environment
Desirable
Previous experience of working in a hospital\healthcare\care home environment
