• Associate Dining Room • Bamboo Noodle Bar • The League • Gilley's • Banquets & Catering Operations What You’ll Do As a Cook 2, you’ll play a key role in food preparation and execution, working under the direction of the Sous Chef to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency in the kitchen.
• Prepare and cook food using advanced techniques (charbroil, sauté, fry, roast, griddle, poach, and more) • Monitor food quality and ensure all dishes meet presentation standards • Prepare ingredients (wash, chop, slice, peel, etc.) • Follow standardized recipes and preparation methods • Taste and garnish dishes prior to service • Control waste through proper portioning and production levels • Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and temperature standards • Support kitchen operations including setup, service, and cleanup • Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment • Rotate inventory to ensure freshness and minimize waste What We’re Looking For
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment • Attention to detail in food quality, taste, and presentation • Team player with a strong sense of accountability Requirements
• Ability to read and follow recipes • Food Safety Certification • ServSafe Certification • Proficiency in cooking techniques including charbroiling, sautéing, frying, roasting, griddling, and poaching • 2+ years of experience as a broiler or sauté cook in a high-end, high-volume restaurant Why Join Us? • You will cook food by charbroiling, poaching, deep frying, pan-frying, sauté, roasting, griddling, and par-cooking. • Monitor quality of food being served. • Prepare multiple ingredients including washing, chopping, slicing, and peeling of fruits and vegetables. • Follow standardized recipes and methods to prepare meals that are cooked, tasty and visually appealing • You will taste food before serving and provide garnishes for food plates. • Follow established food preparation procedures and converted portion guidelines to control waste levels. • Practice proper food storage and follows suitable food serving temperatures. • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment by practicing proper housekeeping procedure cleaning while working. • Set-up, service, and clean-up of food production. • You will rotate stock to ensure usage and disposal occurs before the expiration date. • Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
