Main duties of the job
Lead on the use of OT methods, functional assessments and evidencebased interventions that promote independence
Work across organisations to deliver seamless, joinedup support for individuals with complex needs
Use your extensive knowledge of community equipment, prescribing equipment that supports people to live fulfilling lives at home
Use your understanding of legislation around provision of equipment andadaptations to ensure the overall most appropriate, cost-effective solutions
Offer clinical leadership
Contribute to service development, development of innovative practices, quality improvement and crosssector collaboration

Job description Job responsibilities
The Senior Occupational Therapist within the Social Care Occupational Therapy Service will have professional responsibility for the support and supervision of qualified and unqualified team members, commensurate with their grade. They will also have responsibility for assessment of people with a disability and provision of the appropriate recommendations in order to assist in the Departments statutory obligations under current legislation. This may include advice, provision of equipment, adaptations to the home and/or referral to other agencies. The Senior Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the management of their own caseload, and supporting team members in the management of their caseloads.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Dip C.O.T or equivalent degree State Registration in Occupational Therapy
Experience Essential
Experience of Social Services or relevant Health Authority Post qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist within a Social Services Department. Also to have shown full competence over the full range of occupational therapist duties and responsibilities.
