Job summary
We are looking for an individual to work alongside a small friendly team of staff in the Special Feed Unit at Birmingham Children's Hospital. The special feed unit prepare specialist infant feeds, oral supplement and enteral feeds for inpatients requiring specialist nutritional support and who are under the care of the Dietitians, preparing feeds for around 120 children daily.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to prepare special feeds for inpatients who require specialist nutrition using feed regimes prepared by the Dietitians . You will need to show expectational attention to detail, be able to weigh and measure feed constituents accurately, and to adhere closely to procedures. Our feeds are prepared using strict hygiene protocols to ensure they are safe to give to our most vulnerable patients.
You must have a good level of literacy, numeracy and be able to communicate effectively. You will ideally have either worked in a large scale catering business preparing food, or in a healthcare clinical setting, delivering patient care, and be physically fit and able to undertake moving and handling duties .
