About this role

Job summary We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate dietitian to join our expanding critical care team. You will be working at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, a major teaching hospital, in one of the largest single-site critical care units in Europe. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic MDT with intensivists, nursing staff and other therapists to make a real difference to the journey of our critical care patients.

Main duties of the job

You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nutritional assessment and care planning for critically ill patients, including within our cardiac transplant centre. You will support the nutritional management of patients requiring a range of interventions including oral and enteral nutrition support. As well as your clinical duties, you will contribute to audit, quality improvement, and service development and to deliver both student and staff education.

We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with strong clinical, team working, and communication skills. You will have a commitment to continuing your professional development and will be supported by our highly specialised team of dietitians through a programme of induction and ongoing development.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

* Evidence of relevant GCSE, NVQ,GNVQ, AS and A levels * Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent * Registration with HCPC

Desirable

* MSc or equivalent experience e.g. advanced level of clinical practice / relevant postgraduate, professionally accredited courses

Experience Essential

* Relevant post registration experience relevant to clinical area. * In depth for nutritional assessment / nutritional screening tools. * Knowledge of all types of nutritional support. * Up to date with clinical developments, with evidence of contributions to clinical meetings / journal clubs. * Working knowledge of computer programmes e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, power point, dietary analysis, data collection and patient information programmes. * Evidence of clinical audit and/or research. * Evidence of multi-disciplinary team work. * Knowledge of standards of record keeping and medico-legal issues. * Experience of training Dietetic students.
