Job summary
The People Team are the first point of contact for employees and managers, providing a proactive, professional service, advice across the organisation.
As an HR Advisor youll be working as part of a great team to shape how we manage people and the employment experience across the Group. Driving legally compliant and best practice, ensuring processes are managed within the organisations procedures and policies, and with alignment with the organisations values, behaviours and culture.
Main duties of the job
Working on a range of people matters including employee relations, health & wellbeing, embedding culture, recruitment and onboarding activities, and skills development.
Using systems and people metrics to inform decision making, and identifying trends, and working as a team to develop proactive solutions. Embedding our people policies, values and behaviours across the Group
Creating great working relationships across the Group and visibly representing the People team
Working with managers to achieve great people management practices

Job description Job responsibilities
Provide timely and accurate advice to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and
employment legislation.
Support line managers with employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence,
performance management, cultural development, and organisational restructure and
development.
Manage a caseload of employee relations cases in an advisory capacity, escalating where
necessary. Ensure all advice is in line with legal, regulatory, and organisational frameworks,
and reflects the Group values and behaviours.
Working with the People Team to ensure a flexible, proactive and responsive service,
responding to queries in a timely manner.
Support recruitment processes including drafting job descriptions, job evaluation, adverts, and
advising managers through the recruitment and onboarding process.
Support the full employee lifecycle and experience from induction and probationary processes
to leaving the Group.
Utilise systems, data, efficient and accurate technology solutions to identify trends, inform
our plans and how we work.
Maintain with a high level of attention to detail, the People systems (e.g. CIPHR, iLearn)
Prepare and review correspondence, supporting the team administration requirements.
Support the development and implementation of People and Development policies and
procedures.
Help and support in learning and development and skills development.
Contribute to People Services project work.
Develop and implement working practices that are values led, inclusive and equitable.
Monitor and report on the HR metrics for sickness absence and turnover at monthly
performance meetings within your designated areas of responsibility and on an on-going
basis, analysing workforce data relating to recruitment and retention, identifying actions
needed to address any areas of concern and ensuring the development and implementation
of any plans to address concerns your designated areas of the organisation.
Work collaboratively with People services and other departments to review and develop how
we work to best support the organisation.
Contribute to the development of policy and procedures. Working with the team to develop
training and resources to embed good practices and to develop management skills across the
Group.
Develop positive and effective working relationships with managers, colleagues, employee
representatives and external contacts.
Support the People Partners and team leaders in all People Team activity.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
Demonstrable experience of providing a wide range of HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on employee relations matters, HR Policies and Procedures. Demonstrable experience of managing a varied caseload including absence management, grievance, performance management and disciplinary casework. Demonstrable experience of dealing with queries from the workforce at all levels. Demonstrable experience of working with HR information systems Working with data and analysing it to inform your work.
Qualifications Essential
Degree level qualification or equivalent work experience Level 3 CIPD qualification or equivalent practical work experience in a HR setting Evidence of CPD
