About this role
The Secondary Markets Associate Director leads the development and execution of returns and damage reduction strategies that strengthen the Secondary Markets business and support the broader Enterprise strategy. This role is responsible for defining mid- to long-term strategic direction, establishing priorities, and driving the creation of actionable roadmaps. The position partners closely with cross-functional leaders across the organization to align initiatives, influence decision-making, and ensure successful execution. Key accountabilities include providing strategic guidance and recommendations to teams such as Supply Chain, Services, and Category Management, enabling measurable business outcomes and continuous improvement across the enterprise. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process What you’ll do 1) Team Leadership and Development Set direction, coach, and develop talent while fostering a high-performance, engaged team culture Lead and inspire teams to strengthen critical thinking and drive continuous improvement 2) Strategy Development Develop and deliver strategic insights and executive-level recommendations that shape Secondary Markets direction while balancing risk, cost, and impact Identify growth opportunities through industry analysis, external partnerships, and innovative thinking that challenges the status quo 3) Business Planning Lead development of decision frameworks and business plans aligned with enterprise priorities and cross-functional partners Drive stakeholder alignment and provide guidance to improve efficiency, accountability, and long-term outcomes 4) Roadmap Creation Lead cross-functional roadmap development, setting priorities, driving alignment, and ensuring successful execution Define measurable objectives and track performance to ensure accountability and delivery of business outcomes Basic qualifications 7 years of experience with consulting, multi-channel retailing or applicable industry, specifically; Resale, Supply Chain, business management, project leadership, technology management 4 years (direct or indirect) people management experience Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and influencing skills Strong influencing, coaching and mentoring skills; demonstrated success in building credibility with peers and key stakeholders (often at a Director and VP level) to drive action and change Preferred qualifications 8+ years of experience in a large global consumer-oriented business in the Retail industry, Resale industry, Supply Chain, consulting, developing and leading business strategies supporting large-scale enterprise transformation initiatives preferred. 5+ years of direct people management experience What’s in it for you We’re committed to helping our people thrive at work and at home.
