Job summary
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and committed Employee Relations (ER) Manager to join our team at GESH (St George's, Epsom and St Helier Hospitals).

As ER Manager, you will work closely with the Deputy Group Head of Employee Relations and Group Head of Employee Relations to provide a specialist employee relations and resolution service to managers and staff across the group. The role will require working closely with managers and management teams to improve the standard of ER practice, ensuring that best practice is developed.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will beresponsible for the day-to-day management of a team of Employee Relations Advisors, which will include providing support and guidance on ER matters and identifying new ways of working.
The role will support the development of the skills and capacity of managers to empower them to manage people issues effectively and independently. The post holder will drive the delivery of an early resolution approach in the delivery of advice to managers to build confidence in dealing with complex people-management issues.
The post holder will be responsible for complex employee relations case work and will provide advice and support to line managers on a range of ER issues including, but not limited to, discipline, grievance management, poor performance and attendance and workplace dispute management.
As a senior member of the gesh Employee Relations Team the postholder will be expected to support casework across all group sites as and when required.

A key function of the role will be to lead on the review, development and implementation of best practice systems and processes to support a consistent, robust and excellent Employee Relations service to support identified divisions within the group structure. The postholder will develop long-term, value-added Employee Relations processes and practices designed to enable cases to be managed in line with best practice and legal guidelines. This will also include the monitoring of ER casework and establishing and running regular KPI reports.

Qualifications Essential
oHighly specialist HR knowledge to master's level equivalent acquired through a degree (or significant commensurate HR experience) oProfessional HR qualification (CIPD - level 5 or working towards with equivalent experience) oSignificant experience in an employee relations role
Desirable
oFormal training in a relevant topic such as coaching, mediation or employment law oLevel 7 CIPD qualification
Experience Essential
oExperience of managing multiple complex ER cases from a strategic perspective oSignificant demonstrable experience of advising a range of stakeholders on a broad range of ER issues balancing legal compliance with business need and developing practical value-adding solutions oExperience managing staff oExperience in the design, delivery and evaluation of training programmes
