We are delighted to advertise an exciting opportunity to take on an 8a role or a band 7 preceptorship within Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) Psychology in Leicester.
This is a permanent role within our community service and is an exciting role for developing Psychology input to the Melton and Rutland Neighbourhood Team.
The successful applicant will join the existing MHSOP Community Psychology team, offering input to the 8 Neighbourhood Teams across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, alongside completing Neuropsychological assessments for the Memory and Young Onset Dementia Assessment Service (YODAS).
The MHSOP Community Psychology Team works alongside the MHSOP Inpatient Psychology Team with regular opportunities for peer support, CPD, and further relevant training.
MHSOP Psychology has strong links with the wider LPT Psychology and Psychological Therapies community, providing opportunity for shared learning, support, and development.
MHSOP Psychology has excellent links with the Leicester Doctoral Training Course, with opportunities for supervising trainees, providing teaching, contributing to reflective practice, and supervising service evaluation and research projects.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to patients and staff within the Melton and Rutland Neighbourhood Team.
The post-holder will offer advice and consultation on patients psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues, and where appropriate deliver psychological assessments (including neuropsychological assessment) and interventions; working autonomously within professional guidelines and the Trust policies, procedures and service priorities. The post-holder will manage, and offer clinical supervision to less senior psychologists working in the MHSOP Inpatient Psychology Service.
The post-holder will participate fully in multidisciplinary clinical teams, ensuring effective systems are in place for the management of referrals to the service and workload of team members to ensure timely and appropriate care is provided. With the support of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist for MHSOP, to develop and provide innovative services to meet the psychological needs of patients referred to the service in accordance with evidence-based practice.
The post-holder will be capable of conducting projects, working independently with only general briefings and working directly with senior managers.
