Job summary
The Southampton Mental Health Liaison Team is aligned to the national Core 24 model, and is developed to meet the HIOW mental health transformation priorities. The admin team provision provides an extended administrative service 7-days a week, 365 days a year across three different shift patterns.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our exceptional Mental Health Liaison Team based at the Princess Anne Hospital, covering the Southampton General Hospital site. This role will include working a varied shift pattern of 7am-3pm, 9am-5pm and 1pm-9pm across a 7-day week, 365 days a year.
The Mental Health Liaison Team is the sub-specialty which provides psychiatric treatment to patients attending general hospitals, whether they attend A&E or are admitted to in-patient wards. Therefore it deals with interface between physical and psychological health and predominantly works to ensure the delivery of safe, client focused care.
The post holder will ideally be a skilled administrator with excellent communication and IT skills.

Main duties of the job
To ensure quality secretarial / administration service is provided to the team.
To take and process telephone enquiries and referrals from University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHSFT) staff teams, General Practitioners, patients/clients, relatives, other hospitals and agencies.
To be responsible for coordination of meetings including taking minutes in MDTs, Best Interest Meetings/Professional Meetings.
Use a word processing package to produce letters, memorandums, notes, forms, reports and audio typing as required.
To work a variable shift pattern of early (7am-3pm), Day (9am-5pm) and late (1pm-9-pm) across a 7-day rota including weekends and bank holidays.
To cover for other administrators or medical secretary in the team during absences.
