Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, professional and experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Marysville Medical Practice. We are looking for someone to work 2/3 days per week with one of those days being Friday, so potentially Weds, Thurs, Fri. We are ideally looking for someone to fill around 24 hours per week.
The successful applicant(s) would be working alongside our current clinical team, and will be responsible for the delivery of HCA/practice nursing services to our patient population. The role will include managing areas such as health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, as well as supporting the nursing, clinical, and management teams in achieving QOF targets, IPC and regularly reviewing clinical policy and procedure.
The successful candidate(s) must have experience of working in general practice, and be trained up to a high clinical standard within primary care.

We are looking for someone with excellent primary care experience in general practice settings, and an enthusiastic team player who, as well as being patient focused, will work well with the whole practice team and maintain a friendly but professional conduct at all times. Experience of wound care, simple and complex, would be an advantage. We are a hard working and inclusive team who pride ourselves on delivering excellent patient care.

Provide daily routine nursing care to patients as required in accordance with clinical-based evidence Provide wound care (simple and complex) and dressings for patients Assist the Nursing and Clinical teams as and when necessary within the scope of the successful candidate Maintain accurate clinical records Ensure records and consultations are coded and recorded effectively and accurately Chaperone patients where necessary Assist GPs with minor surgery, coil and nexplanon clinics when requiredAssist with Vasectomy service, discharge and assisting surgeon (training required) Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies Implement and be active in running vaccination programmes for adults and children Support the clinical team with all safeguarding matters, in accordance with local and national policies Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriateDuties including venepuncture, wound care, BP, ECG, Ear Irrigation, injections and health promotion clinicsAdministrative duties including ordering, stock control and keeping rooms stocked with equipment.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
HCA with supporting qualification or equivalent experience.
Desirable
Qualified in Phlebotomy Qualified in Wound Care (simple and complex) Qualification in ECGs Training would be given CDMs and LTCs
Experience Essential
Experience of working in a primary care environment Experience of working as a HCA in primary care Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills Strong IT skills and competent in the use of Office and Outlook Effective time management (planning and organising) Ability to work as a team member and autonomously Problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
Desirable
Experience of chronic disease management Experience of using EMIS or other clinical systems
