Main duties of the job As a Kitchen Assistant at Akari Care, you're expected to work 40 hours per week, including alternate weekends, in a role that emphasizes supporting elderly residents. Your primary responsibilities include collaborating with the Cook and catering team to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently. Tasks involve creating menus and arranging trollies while ensuring that individual religious and cultural backgrounds are respected. You will also work to ensure that each resident receives personalized care and support, particularly during mealtimes, which should be a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone at Akari Care.

Whilst you will be involved in all the practical duties you would expect in a busy care home kitchen it is vitally important to continuously ensure that you are mindful and conscious to individual religious and cultural backgrounds and how this might impact on meal choices, alongside making sure that all our residents feel they have a personalised service.
As the critical link between the kitchen and the serving areas you will be conjointly responsible for caring for our residents. The key focus for us is ensuring mealtimes run smoothly and are an enjoyable experience at Akari Care, where all our residents individual needs are catered for.

Experience of working within similar environment
Kitchen and food preparation experience required.

Qualifications Essential
Experience of working within a similar environment, Kitchen and food preparation experience required, Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, a caring nature, flexibility, resilience, and the ability to work well under pressure
