We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Belmarsh
HMP Belmarsh is a male prison Category A with a capacity of 700 adults HMP Belmarsh offers: Onsite car parking Access to onsite gym Career and Development opportunities Hours:
Shifts are 24hrs between 7.30am - 8pm , 7.30pm 8am
3 weeks of days and 1 week of nights weekends
37.5 hrs total Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £55,086 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model. Be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users. Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers. You will work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information. Have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person centred approach. Attend emergency calls Assessing new arrivals and refer them to the appropriate department. Registered nurse with current NMC Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD). Experience of working with opiate dependant patients. Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge. A non-judgmental and compassionate approach. Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
