About this role

Job summary

Looking for an enthusiastic GP for a salaried role of up to 4 sessions a week. This is a permanent role, with scope for increasing the number of sessions with a view to eventually taking on partnership.

Main duties of the job

A range of regular clinical duties, including:

Face to face consultationsTelephone consultationDuty doctor resposibilitiesRoutine follow-up (e.g. pathology, referrals, hospital correspondence, prescriptions)Home visitsPlanned care/chronic disease managementAcute careInvolvement in practice-level clinical decision makingThe post-holder will be expected to undertake a share of non-clinical duties within the practice, including:

Involvement/engagement with practice PCN duties/meetingsParticipation in practice meetings (clinical and otherwise)Involvement with practice-level administrative/business decision makingInvolvement in service development and quality improvementThe role will involve engaging in all the regular duties of a GP, making professional and autonomous decisions where necessary, while being guided by overall practice policies, workstreams, and procedures, consulting with senior GP colleagues for collective decision making where necessary, and all responsibilities associated within a GP working within primary care.

About us

We are a small practice with c.3000 patients, with a friendly team, and great rapport with our patients. We currently have 2 GP partners, a part-time Practice Nurse, and a full-time Healthcare Assistant. We also have support from clinical pharmacists and a first-contact practitioner through our PCN.

We score well on the GP Patient Survey, which we believe reflects our ethos as a family practice focussed on high quality and safe patient care. Our last CQC inspection report rated us as Good in all areas. We are also a teaching practice.

Full GMC registration and license to practice Inclusion on NHS GP Performers List Excellent communication skills Excellent teamworking skills Commitment to high-quality patient care Good understanding of Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement Good understanding of standards for record keeping Commitment to CPD Patient-centred approach to care
